High-quality oak wood frame and hardware. Heavy lacquer boat wood finish. Fabric is heavy duty stapled on after being wrapped, rather than other fastening system. Fade resistant heavy Sunbrella fabric. We purchased two of them last year to test them out for one year. They were used at home and at the beach. They have been left outside in the rain and sun, other than during November - April. They have been thrown in the back of a pickup and taken to the beach. They lasted extremely well. No malfunctioning, no tears, no fading, staples have all held and lacquer will make its way though too years (I will reapply something next year so as to give the wood longevity to rain). Only complaint is that a minor crack has appeared in one of the legs on one chair close to where the leg is attached to the armrest; however, it is not bad at this point. I will likely fill with wood glue/clamp it next year before lacquering just to be safe. Everyone who sits on them loves them.We bought the cup holders. The nets that go in them are flimsy so we do not use those. We find that a Solo Cup, a mason jar or a standard glass that is thinner at the bottom fit in them without the net. We also bought the leg rests on the first two. The leg rests were fine but seemed unnecessary on these chairs. On the six new ones, we rebought the cup holders but not the leg rests.Overall, we were so pleased that we purchased six more a month or so ago, which is the ultimate review.I have never seen a beach chair used with staples instead of sewing them around the legs etc. Very concerned how long these will last and rust all over the fabric. These were not cheap and the seller said this is how the distributer always makes these...i recently bought 6 beach chairs at the same time in a search for "the ultimate beach chair".the plan was to select the perfect chair, return the other 5 and then buy a second "winner" for the girlfriend. she likes to recline and tan, i like to sit and read. i am 5-9, 170 lbs and have a bad back. she is 4-11, 108 lbs and is very Italian (ie: picky). all 6 contestants were highly rated for comfort and durability and none were cheap. upon arrival we lined the six chairs up in the garage and tried them all out. to make a long story short, this baby just absolutely clobbered the competition in virtually every category except weight. we both could tell IMMEDIATELY that this was the one and i promptly duplicated the purchase.the task then was how to transport two of these (with footrest option) to a remote beach .i considered a number of fat-tire transport buggies ($$$$) and back-pack freighter frames ($$$) but finally settled on the 'SUP Paddleboard Carrier/Storage Sling' ($). this ended up working perfectly. i should add here that a big reason this surfboard sling works is because these chairs fold tight and flat. yet another plus.p.s. returned only 4 chairs from the original purchase. i ended up keeping the 'Tommy Bahama Folding Adirondack Chair Made of 100% Solid Eucalyptus Wood' because it's such a great reading chair (for me anyway, the seat is too deep for my 4-11 girlfriend) and it now lives on my front porch.UPDATE: the Tommy Bahama Folding Adirondack Chair broke after only two uses! the curved wooden 'leg' split and i weigh only 170lbs. booooo! This chair is made of the same quality wood and fabric as the chairs that rent for $25/week (or more) at the beach. I know it will provide many years of wave-watching pleasure at The Outer Banks.I have used these chairs prior when on vacation. I liked them so much I needed to buy them for my own outdoor area. These chairs are very well made. Sturdy. Extremely attractive in my opinion. We cover them at night so they will stay nice for a long time.Let me start by saying that I will be keeping this chair and the foot rest. I very much like the design and heavy duty construction. However, after sitting in the chair for the first time I noticed a few quality issues. I've attached some photos, but the issues don't show up well. Both arms have quality issues.. the left arm has deep scratches and the right arm has a deep gouge by the bolt head. The left upright (3rd photo) has an unfinished part that I'll need to sand to prevent splinters. If I had bought this from a local store and replacing it was easy, I'd do that. However, packing this back up, taking it to UPS, and then waiting for a replacement to be shipped isn't worth the effort to fix these issues.Very well made and excellent product. It should last for years if maintainedThe chairs are beautiful. They are very high quality
